Exerpt from EPA Report 2020:

The average carbon dioxide coefficient of distillate fuel oil is 430.80 kg CO2 per 42-gallon barrel (EPA 2020).

They praise the effort to minimze the CO2 emission to just 3,8 kilogram only in producing oil, which will eventually emit 430,8 kilogram of CO2 per barrel to the atmosphere?

What kind of mathematical equation do we use to legitimate this joke?
